On 21 October 2019 a new law came into force across Scotland introducing drug drive limits, allowing Police to test drivers at the roadside for being under the influence of drugs and, if that test is positive, they will be arrested.
To increase awareness of the new law, a new adaptation of the Scottish Government and Road Safety Scotland’s #DriveSmart campaign has been developed with the addition of a drug drive element. The advert is running on TV, cinema, online and social media alongside radio adverts across various outlets including Bauer media, Spotify and other podcast sharing platforms.
The campaign will focus on raising awareness of the new law, and the consequences of drug driving.

A toolkit has been developed for organisations which explains more about the campaign and includes key messages, social media posts, newsletter copy and key contacts.
